mixed media art supplies workshop

3. Inks

Hello lovely artist!

I hope you’ve had fun with the first two parts of this video series and that you’re ready to play some more!

Today we explore inks (alcohol inks, Distress inks, India ink…) and a few other supplies like walnut stain and even coffee! I love the translucency and fluidity of inks. They are wonderful to let go and create unexpected effects, or to add that extra pop of color and contrast.

In case you missed the first two videos, I invite you to go back now and watch them first:

1. PAINTING TOOLS

2. ACRYLICS

Your turn!

Take the time to get to know your inks really well, the way they react with water, with each other and with other supplies, and experiment with different tools to apply them. The possibilities are endless! Please share your discoveries in a comment below and stay tuned for tomorrow’s lesson!

Below are some of the supplies I’m using. Clicking on the images will take you to the Amazon shop for your region when available (affiliate links).
